A lot of people are experiencing mental health problems during the pandemic but one local expert says not to panic.
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week in Canada.
Linda Kelly of Kelly Mental Health in Thunder Bay explains if you are feeling anxious you are “reacting to an abnormal situation in a very normal way.”
She says to watch for signs of depression like extra fatigue, irritability, spikes of anxiety, feelings of worthlessness along with changes in appetite and sleep patterns.
If you are experiencing these feeling Kelly advises to “try to get some sleep, try not to read too much into the news headlines and do even just the bare minimum of what you need to do because this will pass.”
