Relief for students who have not been able to find work due to COVID-19 could be coming from the Canadian government.
Carla Qualtrough, the Minister of Employment, says she’s brought forth legislation that could provide $1,250 per month, from May to August, and for those with dependents, there’ll be an additional $750.
The money would come from the Canada Emergency Student Benefit, for those who haven’t received benefits from the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.
Those eligible include current college or university students or those heading to post secondary, recent graduates or those who left school no earlier than December of last year, and Canadian students learning abroad.
