$200,000 Donation For COVID-19 Relief

First Nation communities are getting $170,000 to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation from Newmont Musselwhite will be used for buying and transporting essentials like food and supplies.

The company says they have already begun to gather supplies requested by North Caribou Lake, Cat Lake, Wunnumin Lake, Kingfisher Lake and Mishkeegogamang First Nations.

Another $30,000 is going to the Thunder Bay COVID-19 Community Relief Fund, which supports projects and services helping seniors and other vulnerable people.

This brings the fund to a total of $259,000, of which $163,006 has been distributed to local groups and organizations so far.
