More Sloppy Weather This Weekend

Yet another shot of winter is expected for the Thunder Bay area this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement, calling for snow, freezing rain and ice pellets for Friday night.

It’s expected to begin around midnight, but gradual clearing Saturday morning.

We can expect roughly 2cms in accummulation.

Alerts for: City of Thunder Bay

Statements

5:18 AM EDT Friday 03 April 2020
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Freezing rain possible tonight.

Rain is forecast to transition to a period of freezing rain this evening and then to snow overnight. The freezing rain could persist for a couple of hours and be mixed with ice pellets at times before the change to snow occurs. Ice accretion is most likely on elevated surfaces; however, untreated highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may also become icy and slippery.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
