Lakehead Public School Board has decided to close their school playgrounds.
The decision was made on Friday and is effective immediately.
The School Board says they decided to make this decision to encourage social distancing in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Earlier this week, Thunder Bay Health Unit Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janet DeMille encouraged residents to go out and exercise in nature, but to always maintain social distancing.
