Parliament To Be Suspended Until April

The Government of Canada is following the lead of many organizations, businesses and sports leagues world wide in the wake of the coronavirus.

Members of Parliament have just agreed to a motion in the House of Commons to suspend Parliament until Monday, April 20th. A number of MP’s have stood and mentioned the importance of being careful, considering the amount of human contact the job brings while they travel.

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau is in isolation for two weeks after diagnosed with the virus, and the Prime Minister is also in isolation. NDP leader Jagmeet Singh is also quarantined.

Conservative candidates aiming for the leadership of their party have also postponed meetings and rallies.
