Gender equality is the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day.
Today marks the day meant to recognize women and their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.
Organizers say they’re launching a year-long campaign called Each for Equal asking people to make a positive difference for women everywhere.
“Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world,” organizers explain on the International Women’s Day website.
In Thunder Bay, a flag-raising and proclamation were held at City Hall this past Monday.
