Report Recommends Conservatory Renos

There could be some much-needed renovations made to the Thunder Bay Centennial Conservatory.

City staff are recommending to City Council on Monday that they go forward with the replacement of their existing seasonal cold frame greenhouse which is used for the Parks division.

The future repairs to the facility are in the millions of dollars, which, if council approves, could be considered in the city’s 2021 budget.

The report on the conservatory suggests the final options and estimates for the facility’s renewal be completed and brought back to the Council for consideration at a future date.

The conservatory has been open to the public in a limited capacity since 2012 when falling glass was reported.
