A camp on Grandview Beach Drive in Shuniah has been destroyed in a fire.
Shuniah Fire Chief Blair Arthur tells us it was a seasonal residence so no one was home at the time.
“The fire burned quite a bit prior to anybody noticing and after the fire department responded there wasn’t really a lot there and it took…just over an hour to have the fire under control and extinguished,” said Arthur.
The fire was called in by a person driving in the area just before 5 o’clock Thursday morning.
While the fire chief says the cause is not known he points out there was some possible renovation work taking place on the structure.
