New Arthur Street Hotel Back At City Council

Thunder Bay City Council is going to hear more about a proposal for a new six-storey hotel on Arthur Street.

The 90-room facility is planned to be built next to the Hampton Inn, and the two would share access and parking.

Councillors will be looking at the proposal and zoning of the property at their meeting Monday night.

The hotel was before council in the fall of 2019 but City Clerk Krista Power tells us the applicant withdrew it due to issues they were having with the purchasing of the land from the province.

When we asked Mayor Bill Mauro about the project previously he seemed to approve of it at first glance saying it was a nice investment in the community.
