Polar Bear Plunge Set For Spring

You can start your spring off with a chilly plunge in Lake Superior by taking part in this year’s Polar Bear Plunge. The fundraising event has a new sponsor this year Thunder Bay PDR Contracting who is challenging other construction companies to pledge funds to the March event.

Event spokesperson Ryan Gibson tells us he’s jumped several times and describes it as a refreshing and healing experience. He encourages others to take part.

Money raised this year goes toward Thunder Bay Special Olympics, ALS, CNIB and Roots to Harvest. Gibson tells us they brought in $80,000 last year and they would like to surpass that amount this year and bring in close to $100,000.

The polar bear plunge is on Saturday, March 28th, 12:00 – 1:30 pm at Marina Plunge Site. You can find out how you can get involved by clicking HERE.
