Charges Laid In Memorial Avenue Collision

Charges have been laid against a 28-year old Thunder Bay resident after a Memorial Avenue collision claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Police say they were called to the area near 10th Avenue, October 17th, after 9:30 at night. Police found a woman in a wheelchair was crossing the road, when she fell. While a man walking with her tried to help, police claim a minivan then hit the woman, who later died of her injuries.

Police say they arrested the driver today, and laid a charge of Dangerous Operation Causing Death and Breach of Probation x 2.

The driver was released with a later court date.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
