Here’s something that may appeal to you if you forget to put out the garbage/have trouble lifting the can/are supremely lazy. A robot garbage can!
Currently in development, SmartCan works with an app to schedule when it is to automatically drive itself to the curb, and then drive itself back.
There are some potential roadblocks to this being a smooth system, such as docking stations on the sidewalk, and if there’s a specific way that garbage collectors would have to put the trash container back down.
I think for myself, the best part would be the garbage can returning itself to its spot beside the house, so I don’t have to go find it halfway down the street when I get home from work on a windy day.
