A big day for classic video game fans! The Sega Genesis Mini launched today!
Just over 30 years since the original Sega Genesis launched in North America, the mini-version is jam-packed with 42 of the original’s classic games. Sonic the Hedgehog, naturally, is represented, as is Altered Beast, Shinobi, and Street Fighter 2. One of the games I’m really pumped about is ToeJam & Earl! That game was one of the first ones I ever played where you walked freely around a world. Plus those two alien dudes were pretty outrageous!
As for what didn’t make the cut, I’m disappointed that Sports Talk Baseball didn’t make the grade or any of the NHL Hockey games. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to play those on my original Genesis that I still have set up in my basement!
