Plenty of pooches will be walking with their owners today at Boulevard Lake.
Bark for Life in support of the Canadian Cancer Society is being held today with a goal of raising $5,000.
Organizer Emily Groulx tells us dogs play an important role in the fight against cancer.
“They are such a good support system. They are so loyal and they are there for you. In our office, we have a therapy dog named Waffles and we’ve seen him do miracles for people who walk through our door.”
Money raised will be used to support local Canadian Cancer Society programs.
For those taking part, officials say there will be “Wag Bags” sponsored by Pet Smart, Starbucks will be providing coffee and “Puppichinos” which are described as whip cream dog treats.
Registration gets underway at 9:30, the walk starts at 10:00 and ends at 12:00.
