Lots of work has been underway at area public schools this summer.
Superintendent of Business David Wright tells us Hammarskjold got a number of improvements.
“Paving the parking lot, we re-did the field out back, adding some irrigation to make sure that the sports field was in top shape, and we did science rooms and foods rooms on the inside of the school.”
Local schools are seeing $12 million in projects and renovations.
Ahead of the first day of school this Wednesday, Wright tells us enrollment is looking promising for the fall.
“We’re expecting to be ahead of last year in elementary [schools], and very similar to last year in secondary [school].”
