As you drive around Thunder Bay, and are pretty sure you saw Herbie the Love Bug pass you by, you weren’t dreaming.
Local resident Connie Shultz tells us that’s her car, inspired from the Disney movies dating back to 1968.
“Watching all the movies about 10 times each, I just thought it was a cool movie, and as a little girl I said wanted a Herbie when I get bigger.”
She says she gets plenty of attention driving around in her 2014 Volkswagon Beetle, which has the legendary number 53 featured on it.
“This is actually a replacement to another one I had. I was in an accident, and I’ve had this one as of June 30th.”
Shultz adds she had the decals put on the car.
“Everybody loves the car, I get thumbs up, I get people taking pictures with their phones, coming up and asking “Can I get a picture with your car?”. I’m actually going to be in ThunderCon in September, again.”
