Charity Golf Tournament Returns

A local golf tournament is going to help raise money for the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation next week.

Steve MacDonald is the foundation’s Executive Director and says this fundraiser is crucial in bringing in funding for the organization.

“It means an incredible amount to George Jeffrey. We are continually working to increase access to care at the centre. Last year alone, 1,894 clients came to George Jeffrey for care.”

The fundraising goal for the Hometown Heroes Children’s Charity Golf Classic is $75 to $90,000 this year.

MacDonald is thrilled local NHL talent has backed the tournament over the years.

“We can’t thank Patrick Sharp and Carter Hutton enough for lending their time and energy to this event. In Carter’s case over the last four years, his family is heavily involved as well; this helps us get sponsors involved.”

The tournament is set for Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the Fort William Golf & Country Club.
