Brothers Bike Across Canada On Wooden Bikes

A pair of brothers are riding wooden bikes across Canada to promote the national organization Project Learning Tree.

Zac Wagman is the Green Jobs Manager with PLT and tells us it’s been an interesting journey

“Dealt with a little bit of smoke in the Kenora and Dryden area. We’ve been pretty lucky so far. We’ve dealt with every sort of weather imaginable including hail and thunder and lightning. You really appreciate the sunny days with a little bit of wind.”

Zac and Nick started in Victoria in May and they hope to end their trip on the east coast in the fall.

The two are stopping in communities to speak with students who have been employed through Project Learning Tree which included a recent visit in Thunder Bay.

Wagman tells us they chose their wooden bikes because of the connection to the forest industry but also because they are cool.
