Courtroom Hotel Celebrates First Wedding

The first wedding reception has taken place at the newly renovated courthouse hotel on Camelot Street.

Chris Kowbuz is the general manager, and tells us it was a local couple that celebrated this past weekend, on Saturday.

“But we did have family members coming along the way, for the wedding, all the way from different areas, all the way from Europe.”

The hotel general manager adds he’s pleased with how bookings have gone since opening the doors, that it was what they were expecting.

“So many people from the community have come here and asked us, so many different kinds of organizations, different kinds of events, weddings, celebrations of life.”

He also notes visitors appear captivated by a number of features when arriving for their stay.

That includes the preservation of the historical aspect, but also with one room in particular.

“Mostly the ballroom, everybody wants to see what the main courtroom was, what we’ve done with the courtroom, as we’ve obviously transformed it into the ballroom we have today.”
