The owner of a second Toy Sense store in Thunder Bay says there are a number of reasons for the new location on Bay Street.
Darryl Boyer notes while 65% of his May Street store customers were from the south end, he wanted something for the north end.
“The growing area of Thunder Bay is the north side. We should have a presence in the north side. The way the fuel is going up in price, people are looking at means and other ways of transportation.”
The Toy Sense owner adds many people walk to the new store.
And, he says too many people told him they weren’t getting to his May Street store very much, so he made the move with a bit of a difference.
“The Bay Street store is a little bit of a different type of environment. We have lots of hands on that kids can actually play. We have a game area that has demo games.”
The Toy Sense owner adds depending on the success of the hands on aspect, he might add that to the May Street store.
“Right now we’re just using it as an experiment, because we’re trying to see whether we can actually have two stores. So, we want the support, time will tell.”
The store owner adds his north end customers won’t need to go to the May Street store as much.
