Police Chief JP Levesque wants to keep a new 12 hour shift for his officers.
Officers have been working longer shifts since the beginning of January this year.
Levesque says the matter will come before the Police Services Board next month for ratification.
The new shifts are expected to make the police force more efficient and save some money in overtime. (File photo)
