Thunder Bay ski hills set to open this weekend

The ski season will get underway on Saturday for Thunder Bay’s two downhill ski locations at Mount Baldy and Loch Lomond.

Both mountains will be opening in a gradual process.

Mount Baldy will open its magic carpet and tubing hill on Saturday, December 13, and open the upper mountain on Sunday, December 14.

Loch Lomond will be opening the South side’s Snoopy and South Chairs from Saturday, December 13, with no word yet on when the North side will open.

Both hills will be operating on a reduced schedule, with Mount Baldy running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Loch Lomond running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
