Thunder Bay resident facing murder charge

A Thunder Bay resident is facing a second-degree murder charge after a woman’s body was found at a home in the city.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers located the victim when they were sent to an address on Academy Drive on Wednesday.

The Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit became involved in the investigation, which led to a suspect being identified.

On Monday the suspect a 41-year-old was apprehended and charged.

The victim has been identified as a 38-year-old from Thunder Bay.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
