A Thunder Bay Police Officer is facing an assault causing bodily harm charge.
This comes following an incident in June that resulted in a man suffering serious injuries.
An investigation by the province’s police oversight body the Special Investigations Unit led to the charge.
The officer is scheduled to appear in court on August 16th.
The SIU can investigate the actions of officials like police officers under the Legislative Assembly Act, that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault or the discharge of a firearm at a person.
