Tax And Water Rebates Increased

Council wants to know at what cost to taxpayers it can help people who live on low incomes.

Last night, tax and water rebates were raised from $100 to $200 for low income seniors and those with disabilities, adding $100,000 to the budget.

But, Councillor Andrew Foulds wants the program to include all low income residents, increasing the budget by another $100,000.

Mayor Keith Hobbs says he needs more information before committing. City admin will develop criteria and report back to Council by budget ratification on March 2. (Photo provided)
