Synergy North has made a $10,000 donation to the Regional Food Distribution Association
The Thunder Bay based utility says it is to provide support to its communities during the COVID-19. pandemic.
They say the donation will be directed towards buying and distributing food during this time of increased need.
“Synergy North is pleased to respond to the needs of our communities. Now is the time to be thinking about others and while we aim to give back year-round, during this unprecedented period we all need to find ways to help.” says Robert Mace, President and CEO of Synergy North.
RFDA food banks and feeding programs provide support to over 13,000 people in the region each month, with the demand increasing as a result of the pandemic.
Synergy North notes more people are finding that they do not have the funds to put food on the table and are turning to their local food banks for help.
