Hospital Reacts To Rising Provincial Cases

The second wave of COVID-19 across Ontario has resulted in a greater restriction at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

As of Tuesday, the hospital says anyone who has travelled outside northern Ontario within the last seven days will not be allowed in.

Northern Ontario means Parry Sound to the Manitoba border.

The restriction applies to everyone, including staff, volunteers and essential care partners, and is in line with the local health unit guidelines.

The hospital adds care givers who have travelled outside within a seven day period, can appoint someone else to take their spot. Officials say they understand the restrictions are difficult, but necessary to maintain the safety of everyone.
