Supporters of Barbara Kentner’s family continue to rally.
They turned out to show that support in the city’s north end Sunday afternoon.
It was organized by the group Not One More Death, which is keeping an eye on the Brayden Bushby trial.
Several dozen people met at St. Patrick Square at Red River Road and Algoma Street before making their way to the Courthouse Hotel where the verdict will be handed down Monday.
Among the attendees was elder Ma-Nee Chacaby, who says no matter the verdict this afternoon, violence against Indigenous people still needs to be addressed.
Barbara’s sister Melissa Kentner says she’s encouraged by Sunday’s turnout.
“There’s a lot of support, and it just amazes me, you know what I mean? I didn’t think that many people cared, but meanwhile I don’t talk with many people on Facebook either,” notes Kentner.
Rally organizers say they will be at the courthouse hotel Monday at 2:00 PM awaiting the verdict in Brayden Bushby’s manslaughter trial.
