There is a heavy police presence on the city’s north side.
Officers were sent to an address on Cumberland Street South just before 8:15 a.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of an injured person.
An injured adult male was located and received treatment from responding emergency services, before being taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where they later died due to their injuries.
The Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit are involved in the ongoing investigation, and there is not believed to be a threat to public safety at this time.
