Me vs. My Family: The Get a Haircut Edition

Like most people, I haven’t had a haircut in a few months and the results are … interesting. My wife has been offering to trim it for me since the get-go, but I’ve held strong. She is NOT A FAN. The problem being that my hair grows up and out. I keep telling her that it will collapse under its own weight eventually. No luck on that so far! This weekend, we had a get-together for Father’s Day, I had to ditch my hat during supper and the rest of the family piled onto the “Get a Haircut” bandwagon! My Mom, my Dad, my Sister … even my little Niece said I looked like Einstein! At first I thought it was a compliment and she just thought I was really smart but then she said “You know, like a mad scientist!!!!

I thought, since COVID-19 forced us away from hair stylists, that maybe I’d take this opportunity to go back to my high school glory, and return to long, luxurious locks! Or, should I throw in the towel and listen to the fam, and get a trim? But wouldn’t that be succumbing to peer pressure? What kind of lesson is that for the children!? Part of me wants to subscribe to the “You’re Not the Boss of Me!!!” mentality and keep on trucking out of spite. Watch out everybody, if you’re not careful … next stop Pony Tail City, BABY!

What say you, friends? Get it cut, or let it ride?

P.S. I do really miss going to see Katie and the gals at Parlor, maybe they’ll just let me come in and hang out?

P.P.S. I think now I can officially tell people I’m around 6’2″ tall with the added height.
