Restoring pieces of Thunder Bay history.
Both the Time Capsule and original scale were on display Tuesday at the Finnish Book Store by the group Raise the Finlandia Cupola.
The Capsule hadn’t been opened since being recovered since the December 2021 fire and subsequent demolition of the Finnish Labour Temple.
The items will be brought to the archives at Lakehead University within the Finnish Canadian Historical Society collection for restoration.
Organizers also unveiled fundraising plans to help reconstruct the Historic Tower and Cupula, which includes purchasing an original brick salvaged from the building during demolition.
