“A lazy cat, celebrates a milestone”

I never thought I’d share a story about a famous comic strip on TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD, but there’s always a first time right?
It was this week in 1978, GARFIELD first appeared as a comic strip.  GARFIELD was created by Jim Davis.  It chronicled the life of not only Garfield the cat;  but also his owner Jon, and Odie the dog.  The comic strip covered topics ranging from Garfield’s laziness and obsessive eating, Jon’s need for coffee, and not much love for Monday’s and diets!

AND, just how popular was GARFIELD?  It was syndicated in over 2,500 newspapers, and holds the Guiness Book of World Records as the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip. It still earns up to $1 billion dollars a year from merchandising, books, films and TV.  All this – from a lazy cat!  GO GARFIELD! Lol.
