Daily Cases Pass 18k

The case count will be underestimated for a number reasons in today’s provincial summary.

As it’s Jan.1 provincial reporting centres aren’t getting test results because they are closed for the holiday, also a backlog in many regions is also affecting total counts.

Also with the change in PCR eligibility, numbers will be inaccurate as to who truly has a case of covid-19.

In an Ontario Public Health document it estimates that there are 18,445 new cases, 12 deaths and 4,769 cases resolved.

In Ontario, it’s estimated that there is over 774 thousand cases active across the province.
