Morning! This thing on?
September 3…. And away we go.
If you would have told me a couple of months ago that i’d be working a morning show playing the soundtrack of our lives, i probably would have told you stop teasing me.
After a lot of work, a lot of secrets, a lot of closed door meetings – 99.9 The Bay is a reality.
We did a lot of research over the last year to try to figure out what Thunder Bay wanted in radio station, and what kind of radio station the community needed. So here it is. The Bay is not just any other local radio station. This one is really, really different. The music really is the soundtrack for the city. It takes music from all genres and squishes them all together in a way that is probably pretty close to what is in your playlists on your phone. Yesterday I loved hearing Michael Jackson and AC/DC in the same hour. And then Streetheart with Heart. It’s non stop.
So here i am on day one, navigating a new morning show that also will be a lot different than what i’ve done before. I’ve been doing this a long time (some may say too long!) but there is one thing i’ve learned over the years. It’s that there are a lot of people who care about this city, love living here, and want to stay connected. Thats what this new morning show is all about. You. Not me. You. What’s happening in your city, on your roads, with your weather, with your community. Thats the most exciting part to me – talking, texting and finding out what’s going on and what you think about it. Our phone/text line is always on – 344-TBAY (Still can’t get over that phone number!) Check in, say hello and tell us what you think.
