It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Gary on Sept. 22, 2026 in St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thunder Bay, Ont. Gary was born Aug. 10, 1946 in Port Arthur, Ont., to Albert and Kathleen (Ferguson) Strey. He was the oldest of 8 children. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Kathleen, brother Michael, sister Frances Fujczak, and brother-in-law Francis Turcotte. Left to mourn are his brothers Albert (Karen), Earl (Janice), Roderick (Mary-Jo), and sisters Carol Turcotte, Cheryl Lundy (Drew), as well as many nieces, nephews, and family. The family have decided to have a small graveside interment at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at St. Joe’s Hospice, TBRHSC 2C and Northwest Funeral Alt. for all their help, support, and understanding during this sad time. Donations to the Cancer Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated.
