After a brave month-long struggle, Robert (Rob) passed away peacefully on July 10,2026 at the age of 54, with his beloved partner, Diane, holding his hand. He left this world knowing that his last 15 years were exactly how his life should have always been—filled with deep love, laughter, and beautiful adventures.
Robert was a genuinely funny guy, a master of making people laugh, and a man who lived with a completely open heart. If you needed a hand, he’d give you both—he was the kind of person who would truly do absolutely anything for anybody, never expecting a single thing in return. This immense generosity flowed both ways; when he fell ill, his engineering colleagues immediately rallied together with overwhelming support, a testament to the deep respect and high regard they held for him. Throughout his successful career, he worked at many firms, leaving a trail of excellence and making wonderful, lasting friends at every single stop along the way.
His passions were as vast as his character. He spent a great deal of his childhood making lifelong memories at the family camp, a place that sparked his love for nature. He held a lifelong fascination with space and the stars, spending the last 20 years dedicated to his favorite online space game, and decades more gathering around the table for epic Dungeons and Dragons campaigns with his brother and childhood friends. He also loved the thrill of the open road and spent countless happy hours tinkering with and driving his beloved EVO. At home, he was the hilarious keeper of the rules; he fiercely insisted on reading every single line of the instruction manual before a family board game could even start. It drove everyone completely crazy, but they loved him for it.
Above all, Robert was a man moved by grandeur. He had a deep, visceral love for powerful, sweeping music—from grand orchestral scores like The Lord of the Rings to 80s rock and the heavy energy of Rammstein. When a song hit just right, he’d point to his arm with a giant grin and say, “Look, I got goosebumps.”
He will be forever missed by his partner and best friend Diane Younger.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Caylyn Adamko; son Evan Adamko; his stepchildren Thomas Probizanski (Crystal); Bradley Probizanski (Shawna) and Alexandra Probizanski. He will be profoundly missed by his mother Marta Adamko, brother Stephen Adamko; and sister Katherine Adamko (Ralph) along with his childhood crew, his engineering colleagues, his neighbors, and anyone who ever had the joy of sharing a laugh or a project with him.
Robert was predeceased by his father George Adamko.
His family would like to thank Dr McCluskey and all the nurses in the ICU and Neuro ward at the TBRHSC for their compassion and dedication to Robert.
In keeping with his vibrant spirit, a celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday July 21 at 11am at Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel, with a reception to follow. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
