Caroline May Goulding

Caroline May Goulding passed peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 78. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her generous heart, and her quiet strength.

Caroline was predeceased by her parents, Thora Gorrell (Melby) and Wylie Gorrell; her brothers Delford Gorrell and Ken Gorrell; and her sisters Melody Ferguson and Trudy Kostynik. She also was predeceased by her step- son, Patrick Douglas Kerry Goulding.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Ross Goulding, and her beloved family, who were the centre of her life. Caroline was a proud and loving mother and grandmother, and she cherished each of her children and grandchildren deeply:

· Melody Gordon (Andre’) and family

· Stacie and Christopher

· Tyler and son Owen

· Donna Townes (Scott) and children

· Kyle and Talon

· Karrie Bank (Chris) and children

· Ridge and Brendon

· David Dolph (Jennifer) and children

· Andrew, Dyna, and Austin

· She had total of 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Caroline is also survived by her brothers Wayne Gorrell (Noella), William Gorrell (Nina), and Dale Gorrell (Jolene); her sister Penny Fitzpatrick; her sister-in-law Jan; and her brother-in-law Bill Ferguson, step- son Dean (Diane)Ross Goulding along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Caroline’s greatest joy was her family. She loved gatherings where everyone came together to share food, laughter, and stories. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking bread and took great pride in her yard, finding peace and satisfaction in tending it.

A significant and meaningful part of Caroline’s life was her work at Manitouwadge High School, where she served with dedication as the Attendance Counsellor. This role was much more than a job to her—it was a calling. Caroline cared deeply for the students and consistently went above and beyond to support them through many difficult and crisis-filled situations. She was deeply committed to their well-being and left a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Caroline’s life will be honoured and celebrated at a service to be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, including the ICU team, for their compassion, professionalism, and kindness during this very difficult time. A special thank you to Nurses Julie and Cal on 2B for their attentive care and comforting presence when we arrived. Your kindness and gentleness will always be remembered.
