A 45-year-old is facing charges after being found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was involved in a collision.
Further investigation of the situation also led to the seizure of suspected crack cocaine.
Officers were sent to a business on River Street around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday after receiving a report about a collision in the area.
One vehicle had collided with another in a drive-through lane, and the vehicle had been driven away prior to police arrival.
The vehicle was located a short while later nearby.
Officers were able to wake the driver up, and they noticed signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested, and cash and the suspected drugs were seized.
As a result, the accused is facing the following charges:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- Failure to stop after an accident
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of a crime under $5,000
The accused appeared in court on Thursday and they have been released with a future court date.
