NAPS arrest two in two separate aggravated assaults

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service is investigating two aggravated assaults on northern First Nations.

One involved a stabbing on the Fort Severn First Nation early Friday morning.

A male victim was taken to the nursing station for treatment of his injuries.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested.

The second incident occurred early Thursday morning on the Sandy Lake First Nation, when police were called to a serious assault.

The victim was taken to the nursing station and flown to hospital in Winnipeg for treatment.

It’s not believed the injuries are life-threatening.

In that case, an 18-year-old male suspect has been arrested.
