City police cruiser damaged in collision

A motorist has been charged following a collision involving a police cruiser.

Thunder Bay Police say the unmarked cruiser was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Oliver Road and High Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday when it was struck by another vehicle.

The officer and driver of the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

The 35-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle now faces a charge of careless driving.

They have been issued a summons to appear in court at a future date.
