Thunder Bay resident facing charges following robbery

A Thunder Bay resident is in custody after attempting to rob a business at gunpoint.

Officers were sent to a business on John Street Road on Friday after receiving reports of a robbery.

The suspect had entered the business threatened staff and demanded money from the cash register.

They ran before officers could arrive.

The investigation by city police’s Break and Enter and Robbery Unit led to the suspect being identified.

They were located on Tuesday morning and were placed under arrest.

A 41-year-old Thunder Bay resident is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Disguise with intent
  • Pointing a firearm

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
