SIU ends Thunder Bay investigation

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit says because there were no serious injuries in a car crash back in February, they have ceased their investigation.

Back on February 29th, an officer with the Thunder Bay Police was involved in a car chase.

The chase covered seven kilometers and lasted about four and a half minutes.

It came to an end when the vehicles collided at the southern end of Neebing Avenue.

The 31 year old driver was taken to hospital for treatment, but didn’t sustain any fractures.

The SIU says it’s mandate only kicks in if there were serious injuries.
