WATCH: Jet Packs for Paramedics!!!

Courtesy: Gravity Industries/Great North Air Ambulance Service

This could be huge for paramedics in the future, and is just insanely cool in general.

Recently a United Kingdom-based company tested out a jet suit that would help first responders get to patients in remote locations, like up a mountain. Gravity Industries teamed up with Great North Air Ambulance Service to showcase how a paramedic in a jet suit can get to somebody in a minute-and-a-half as opposed to the 25 minutes it would take on foot, and also much quicker than a helicopter.

There’s still a long way to go before this is a regular thing around the world, but it’s very encouraging (and AWESOME!)

Check it out! (He starts to takes flight at around the 50 second mark.)
