Buildings Will Be Ripped Down

At least $10,000 will be spent to clean up the abandoned, fire damaged building at 627 Simpson Street.

City spokesperson Doug Vincent says it will take a few months before the work is done. He adds the property is between two other fire-damaged buildings that need to be torn down. Cleanup needs to be done before the demolition can go ahead.

The city, which has been working with the neighbouring properties affected by the fire since last November, says the work has been quoted at between $10,000 and $20,000.
