Heat Warning in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

A heat event is expected today and possibly into the weekend.

Inland from Lake Superior, daytime high temperatures near 29 degrees Celsius are expected over the next few days. Overnight lows will range from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Areas near Lake Superior will feel slightly cooler temperatures.

Please refer to your public forecast for further details on expected temperatures.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
