Busking From The Backyard

Busker Fest traditionally happens around the end of July here in town, but due to COVID-19 concerns, it was cancelled this year. My kids and I have gone every year and always have an amazing time. I remember taking my oldest for the first time and he was absolutely CAPTIVATED by a magician. I wasn’t allowed to move, or talk to him during the performance (he literally shushed me!) and when it was over he immediately dug into my pockets to get money to put in the ‘tip jar’….I had to stop him from giving the magician’s assistant ALL my money, but I was happy to tip. I’m going to miss hanging out on Bay and Algoma, seeing all of the sites and people, enjoying the sun and eating junk with the kids. I won’t have to miss the performers though! Why? Because some of the regular Buskers have taken it upon themselves to organize an online busker fest!

It’s called ‘Busking From The Backyard’, and it’s taking place on July 25th and 26th from 1-5pm each day. The event features a lot of amazing local performers already with more to come as the dates get closer (they even have a virtual guitar case set up so that you’ll be able to tip)! I’m already planning to get the kids into the backyard and watch the stream from our picnic table…while eating junk food!
