LU President Pleased With Sciences Building

Moira McPherson was named Lakehead University’s President in September, but she points out she’s coming up on one year with the school thanks to her time as Interim President.

Looking back on 2018, she feels opening the new Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering and Sciences at Lakehead University is a high point of this year.

Moira McPherson explains she sees a lot of value in the recently opened CASES Building.

“It’s really important, because it’s a place where we can really celebrate research. We have some of our top researchers that have major laboratories that are incorporated into that building.”

She feels it’s a place for entrepreneurship and innovation at the school.

“It’s a place that our graduate students will be able to come together, hang out, do that type of learning that you can only have happen when you bring people together.”

The LU President is also pleased with the progress made on the school’s Athletic Centre.

McPherson gives the credit for kick-starting the project to LU students.
