NDP’s Gilles Bisson Introduces Gas Bill

The NDP are hopeful a private member’s bill, meant to regulate the price of gas by the Ontario Energy Board, will make it through the legislature.

Gilles Bisson notes something needs to be done since prices vary widely across the province.

“You’ll pay as low as a $1.20 something here in the Hamilton area, you’ll pay as much as $1.59 in Sioux Lookout, if you are further north where there’s no tax on gas you’ll pay $2.60 a litre.”

The northern NDP member says he is bringing the bill back that passed second reading during the last sitting at Queen’s Park.
