Five local organizations are dividing up over 170 thousand provincial tax dollars so they can hire interns.
The money is being made available through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund. The Ontario Native Women’s Foundation is getting over 60 thousand of that to fund two interns, one as an events coordination and the other as a development officer.
Also receiving money are the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, Confederation College, Community Clothing Assistance and the Phelps Group.
